Adams Peak, 3/247
Day 3, Adams Peak
Skiing Adams Peak from Frenchman Lake was wonderfully peaceful. It had snowed a few inches the night before, and the sky was full of grey storm clouds. The route followed winding roads through a desolate forest, recently ravaged by a wildfire. The stark contrast of the blackened, bare trees and the fresh white snow was a thing of tragic beauty. On the summit, the air was still and the sun burst through a small break in the clouds. Glorious turns in the soft snow led to a long glide back to the van.
